Torrone nougat is a classic Italian treat made with lightly toasted almonds mixed with honey and egg whites, no added sugar. The honey is heated until it becomes concentrated, then mixed with whipped egg whites until they turn into a white, creamy and light batter, then slowly cooked. After cooking, toasted nuts are added and the nougat is hand formed into beautiful little mountains and then packaged while it is still warm to maintain its fragrance and aroma. Similarly to Panettone, Torrone is traditionally enjoyed at Christmas.
